Post If I can do it anyone can...(V1)

I've had my ValentineOne for a while and finally decided to hardwire it using the DIY on Robin's site. I was a little nervous as it was my first DIY that had some level of complexity.

I haven't finished it, but the hard stuff is done (sauder to the sunroof switch and running the direct wire power adaptor through the underside of the dash) --> AND I DIDN'T BREAK ANYTHING IN THE PROCESS!!!

Now all I need to do is run the wire along the windscreen to the V1 unit and into the ash tray for the remote unit. That is the easy part

I just wanted to brag a little and let you all know that without the rennlist and all the DIY discussions, I'm sure I wouldn't have attempted this project. It is much more fun doing it yourself as this way you know it is done right and nothing is ruined.

Thanks...

skip,
I thought about placing the remote display unit in the ash tray but chose not to do so since that will distract me forcing me to take my eyes off the road. Instead this is where I put mine...this way the unit will always be in my field of vision. (just thought you might consider it)

PK,

The pic doesn't work, but I am interested in seeing your remote unit location. Please re-post.

Thanks,

SKip

I'm still trying to figure out this picture posting thing... it's driving me nuts.

anyway, you can check out my pics at rennlist gallery under my album "PK's pix" on page 11.

Hope this will help.

PK,

I took the liberty of uploading your photo for you. Nice installation job with the V1 remote display, by the way. I assume you just used velcro tape?

Thanks, Tim.
and yes it is velcro tape for easy removal (not that I would want to drive w/o my V1 anyway).
