Post 18" RUF Speedline rims

Am wondering if anyone has had any experience with the RUF CTR type 18" rims on a narrow body 993 C2. The exact specs of the rims I am looking at are as follows- front: 18" 8.5J 58 offset, rear: 18" 10J 66 offset. My key concern is clearance on these (full steering lock, any rubbing on inside fender etc).

Any help is much appreciated as I realise these rims are not of the same size/offset as those "allowed" under the Porsche owners manual or indeed the Techquipment catalogue for 18" rims.

Cheers

Harold

My car originally had them on. It was no problem.

Dear Phil,

Was the offset and rim width exactly the same as those I mention? The RUF dealership here seems to think that there are various different offsets and rim widths that were made for that particular model rim...and they have me worried a a result. Did you need spacers on the front to accomodate the wider rims, or need to reduce the steering lock?

By the way, you have a stunning car!

Cheers

Harold,

Those wheels were only made with the sizes and offsets you stated above. They will fit the narrow body 993 just fine but the rears will require a spacer to fit on a widebody.

Just installed the CTR rims on the 993. Wow, they look big....but they fit like a treat.

BTW, thanks for the price quote for the RS rims Gert, unfortunately the minister of finance (my wife!) said a big no to the cost comapred to the RUFs....

Thanks for all the advice guys

Harold
