Post 60K Maintenance Upcoming

I am looking for your collective opinion(s). I am getting ready to do the 60k maintenance on my 993. I have a friend that owns his own Mercedes service shop and works on Porsches but he is NOT an authorized Porsche technician. I trust this guy 100% and have no issues with his work. My question to the board do you think this could have negative repercussions in a future sale (not planning but you never know what could happen)?

Thanks for your input.

No negative repercussions that I can think of... Just document the work.

People do all their own service with no negative results. As long as the guy is compete no worries.

Rocky Mountain 993,

There really isn't any issues in the future resale of our cars even when the service work is not done by an authorized Porsche dealer as long as there are documentation.

If you DIY all the work yourself, and keep all the receipts and document the mileage and the date it is just as acceptable comes time for resale as dealer receipts. In most cases when you trade in your car to the dealer they don't even care if there are receipts or not.

As for your Mercedes mechanic who is not familiar with the mechanics of a 993, I would strongly suggest you should at least bring him print out of the procedures from the factory shop manual or from the DIY section of the p-car.com web site. That ways it will prevent him from doing trial and error on your car.
