After 30 years of pure Polar Silver I decided to "pimp my Porsche" with a set of stripes this summer to match the newly-painted yellow calipers. I am still on the fence so I thought I would ask the Rennlist community to weigh in. Pista stripes - or back to stock?
Hi Reuben,
Your call, I don't think the strip diminishes the look of the car, not sure it adds to it. I have the same debate in my head concering the adding the classic "Carrera" stencile to the side of my car.

I don't think it quite works, but a splash of yellow on silver can be stunning. I recall seeing a silver gbody with a yellow front bumper area that looked amazing reminiscent of a Messerschmidt bf 109
In the first pic what's going on in the front grill and under the car?
If you want to make the car look noticeably better, open up the fog lights and paint the faded beige housing with silver paint. Makes a huge difference.
I've always thought Martini stripes look great on silver 911's.
The yellow isn't for me - or the nod to Ferrari but whatever you like is all that matters.
In addition to refreshing the fog lights, a new set of headlight lenses would make a massive difference (although those yellow'd elements do match the stripe )

I've seen a lot of mods on 993s here over the years and truly believe that if you like the way it looks that's all that counts. Next step for you is to add yellow seatbelts.
I kinda like it, but it’s your car and that makes it your call. I like the idea of Martini stripes, but there’s something about yellow…

Be careful what you might get if you post on Rennlist asking for a critique.
No offence meant, but I'd spend the money on at least one new side-repeater (one of yours is clearly broken) and get the front PU re-seated and on properly, including re-seating the two separate lower corners, which clearly have the tabs in the wrong place or are broken.
....but sure stick the stripe on if you want to - not my cup of tea, but do what you enjoy whilst you still can
Does not look too bad. As long as you like it that’s what matters!
Maybe adding the “porsche” decal/stripe on the sides in yellow is a better look to match the calipers in lieu of hood?
I'd ditch the stripe and the yellow calipers. Go red on the calipers if you don't care for the stock black. The yellow draws too much attention in my opinion.
