Just finished searching the archives for info on wiring a SouthSport trailer to a 96 993. Looks like I need the converter for power, but I need help on the actual wiring (location and color codes). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Terry,
I cant remember wht type of wiring adapter we used but I know I got it at Uhaul. It ties directly into the lights on the left side with the reverse (I think) coming from the right side. It has been more than a year and that's why I can't remeber exactly. Anyway, with the correct uhaul adapter it was simple. It comes with the splices - you justneed to remove the lights, tap the wires, stuff the adapter behind the lights, reattach the lights and then run the wire out the side of the trunk when you need it. When I dont need it, I zip tie the wire to the trunk release wire tube on the inside of the engine bay. You have to remove the long plastic peice that runs the length of the engine bay between the two sets of lights to get access to the lights.
It's really pretty easy once you have it apart.
Good luck,
E. J.

I had a few extra minutes tonight and so I threw a quick DIY for the trailer wiring on my webwsite.
Click <a href="http://www.pcarracing.homestead.com/diy.html" target="_blank">here</a> to go to the DIY page.
Hope it helps some more.
