Post Valuation of 993s - considering purchase

I am considering getting a 993 coupe and am trying to figure out what a fair price is; I may trade my 993 Cab ('95, 24k miles, speed yellow/black, tiptronic, cup wheels) so am also trying to figure out what its value might be on a trade.
After some looking, I've located a few cars that look interesting - listed below is the original asking price and what the initial trade offer was upon my indicating the car I may be trading:
1998 C4S, 3300 miles, black/black, ask $68,000, trade diff $23,900
1996 C4, 12000 miles, speed yellow/black, ask $59,980, trade diff $13,500
1997 C2S, 23800 miles, speed yellow/black, aerokit, 18" wheels, partial carbon fiber interior, ask $59,900
1997 C2S, 21000 miles, black/black, LSD, ask $59,000, trade diff $14,000
1997 C2S, 19000 miles, red/black, 18" wheels, ask $49,900, trade diff $11,900
1997 C2, 19500 miles, black/black, 17" wheels, LSD, ask $51,500, trade diff $6,900
Please share any insights you might have into the valuation of these cars or anything else that I should consider in my decision process.
I've found that 993 prices are widely varied and personally feel that if I do end up trading my car the only relevant number is the trade difference.
Thanks for your insights.

Rick if I recall correctly you modified your cab extensively at least cosmetically so you know how much these upgrades cost.
Looking back on my purchase and expenses I have endured so far I would say that the trade difference that you value should factor what upgrades you are going to save in the future. If the car has 18 wheels you saved 3K right there and then, if it has sports seats 3.5K, aero kit 3K etc etc... So if you want to do these upgrades looking at the Yellow C2S you have listed with all these upgrades on suddenly it looks like a much better value compared to anything else on you list as it will save you future upgrading!

In retrospect I should have waited for the right car to come along with the upgrades on it or at least part of it...

Also on resale value a CS will fare much better no?

Good luck!

In my view, life is short, get the car you want and don't spend a lot of time on the $$. I learned sometime ago this is not a "hobby" where one can make money -- this one costs money -- sometimes a lot but that's part of the attraction. Find the car that really turns you on, make your best deal and don't look back.

Danny & Jeff,
Good comments from both of you; I am going to keep my RS Aerokit and PSS-9 suspension since I don't believe that most people will give me much (if any) more in trade/sale for my car with those modifications.
Also, once I narrow it down to the car that I want, I'm not going to blow the deal over a small amount of money.
Thanks for the insights.
Rick.

This is an emotional purchase and that is where the value is - in the eyes of the buyer not the seller. In looking for my (as yet unfound) p-car I have found that the add-ons (aero kit, etc.) don't add much to the trade in or retail value on the used market - except to the buyer who wants it.

Its like buying a house with a pool - it only adds value if you want a pool - otherwise it may detract from the percieved value of the house - and you may not get the money out of the house that you spent putting in the pool unless you live there for a long time.

But I digress... <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />
