Just got my HID kit and started on install. Question on what folks did to get the ballast wires into the fender to the igniter? Did you have to cut out the center of the big rubber grommet or what?
thanks for the information.

Pull the grommet completely out. Stick the long screwdriver blade through the rubber grommet and lever it against something, pull up. Push the wire from the back through the large opening.
Brgds,

Wow! Never dreamed you could get the two large ballast connecters through the grommet without cutting a slit or something. I'll give it a try...thanks.

Now if anyone has a tip for getting that grommet back in place, I'd love to hear it!

Take the grommet, squeeze it together like the diaphragm, and shove it into the opening, engaging one 'squeezed' end. Work around the hole with your fingers to push the outer lip in to make that perfect, 'leak-proof' fit

Eureka! The HID's are in. Couple of notes from install.
Try as a might, I couldn't get the wire connectors thru the grommet without having to slit the inside collar! O'well.
Second, as I thru the switch, they came on... and then in a couple of seconds, the left went dark and then the right! Oh no what have I done! Checked the fuse in the HID harness but all was well. Then checked the OEM fuse up front and it was a 7.5amp fuse that was fried. Replace with 15 amp and eureka, I'm in business!
Thanks for the all the help from the members! I would never have tried this DIY without all the advise.

Thanks.
