A/C hisses as it cycles

The A/C on my 96 coupe makes an intermittent soft hissing sound as it cycles. Is this normal?

Inside the car as you're driving? Can't recall my '95 doing that. Frankly don't remember feeling any of the cycles except for a "click" when compressor engages and disengages.

Turn up the stereo.

Mine makes a small sound every 15 seconds or so. Sort of a hissing sound.

Might be an air vent opening or closing.
