Default Hall sensor replacement

Dear, hope you all are doing well.

its for a 964 C2 from 1991, but I think they are the same

I gathered a replacement hall sensor and removed the plate that holds the sensor from the distributor.

The actual sensor if riveted to one plate, which is “somehow” fixed to the other.

Problem is that one of the rivets that holds the sensor is hidden y one of the plates.

Anyone know how should I do it?

Thanks a lot.

Had the same problem with mine.
Sent to a pro shop that does rebuild and had them finish the project off for me.
Need to press it out and rivet back on.
Change bearing at the same time - they are done after 30 years.
Good luck

Update:

Replaced the sensor.

Needed to drill out the old rivets to remove the old one.

As the new one had short rivets, I also drilled them to use a M2 bolt, nut and washers to secure it in place.

Fault 34 resolved.

Nicely done!
did you take an after picture? Does the nut go on top or bottom side?

Thanks!!!

Sorry, no more pictures.

On one side, the nut is on top, on the other, in the bottom. It seems to me to leave more free space due to the geometry of the plate support.
