While I am still a subcriber to Excellence, I have noticed the last two or three issues have not been read, just laying around. I used to be really eager to read it the day it arrived... HMMM

Well, I've got the opposite perspective to some of you on this - I really liked Excellence, despite getting it much later, find 911&PW and especially GT Purely Porsche pretty low on content. I certainly acknowledge that its not been fabulous lately, and top 10s are always going to **** some people off. But the recent oil article, the 993 suspension article (long ago) are the roots of the mag - if they get back to that I'll be happier!

Otherwise its back to Audio Amateur !

Cheers, Maurice

Default This one got me ...

When I went through the latest Excellence issue and read the article 'parting shot' featuring the '40 Year 911', I got stuck at the following picture:

The caption reads "view down the side from the front wheel shows the Coke-bottle curves off to best effect ..."

First I thought they were being sarcastic, but I guess they really mean it. To me the 996 body is as straight as is can be, and has no excitement at all. Quite the opposite from the actual Coca Cola bottle, an exciting, timeless design icon. Or the 993 ...

Yeah, I would really enjoy kneeling / stooping / grunting down to the pavement and twisting my head up to get this photos perspective so I could "enjoy" the coke shape of my 996.

A Top 10 design? - NOT IMO.

IMO - There is no better Mag than Autoweek. They are always up to date, do some terrific Porsche covers, have great race coverage, ads, etc. etc....
And they come to your door every week!
