I guess stupid but just to be sure how this works:

Those of you who have done it, how did you take your car to the shop for a PPI? Did the dealer let you to take the car for a few hours or..?

In my experience the dealer will drive the car to the shop for the PPI. Usually they've had experience doing this with a lot of the local shops so it's no big deal. One dealer in Marin County, CA once offered to drive a car to Kahlers in Dublin, CA for me...that's got to be 50 miles at least. Of course different dealers will have different sensitivity points for distances.
