Default Cdr 210

Just attempted to install a CDR 210 in my '95 today. I am curious about the fit b/c the face of the unit did not fit into the dash. Is this the same for everyone? No portion of the face plate fit flush into the dash.

Recently I was pulling and fitting my CDR210 just before I replaced it and I noticed that sometimes there was a big thick clump of wires that would get caught and impede the flush fitment of the unit in the dash. Could some wires be sneaking down?

Terry,

Does any part of the black face plate fit into the dash opening or does only the metal chassis fit into the opening? My chassis is fitting tight but the radio looks odd to me because no part of the plastic face plate fits into the dash opening. Do you happen to have a picture of your install that you could post?

Sorry Randy, wish I had taken a pic of the before, but only have the after. The new one sits in the dash the same as the old one tho. As far as I remember, the stereo was installed flush in the dash. Is it locked in or can you pull it out with your hands? Perhaps the metal chassis is not in far enough??

Terry,

Thanks for the pic. It looks like yours is fitting more flush. Could you do me one more favor and measure your dash opening? I just want to make sure that the opening didn't change from the early '95 models to the later models. Thanks again for all your help.

A little under 7.5". I thought they were all standard ISO or something? In any case, good luck!
