Weltmeister, under the carpet, $199.
Had it done at the same time as the well publicised Bilstein HD upgrade, so no additional labor charge.

Found a new Brey Krause on ebay back in February for $75. Fit like a glove, under the carpet.

It does matter which way you install it.

Robin and others on a recent thread recommend having the bar as close to the center line as possible, and with a half turn for outward pressure.

that's how I did mine.

Also, I didn't want to cut my carpet, so that's why I covered the bar with it.

(additional thought)
A big caution on the install (which is very easy otherwise).

Do not overtighten the nuts on the bolts -- they strip easily.

I've read a lot on the board to not exceed 24 lbs.

My mechanic reccommended 16-20. Being a moderate, I did 18. Seems to be holding fine after a track weekend.

hello,

i just called PMNA asking about the availability of the strut tower brace for the gt2 race car and the lady said that it was no longer available. do you guys have any idea why this would be? if this piece truly cannot be found, is my best bet to get the regular brace from my local porsche dealer? any input would be helpful

thanks

The GT2 strut brace is/was made by Matter. Maybe they have some. I wouldn't think PMNA would be stocking this piece as the GT-2 doesn't race in any pro venue, that I am aware of.

Another option could be the carbon bar that Robert Linton posted on this board. Not sure if they are making it yet or not.

robert linton,
i have to ask, where did you get the part number for the gt2 strut tower brace? i called suncoast porsche and gave them that number but the guy i spoke to said it came up as a bad number and he had no idea how to find out about this piece for the gt2. also, does anyone have any other ideas concerning the location of this piece? i ran a search for the brand "matter" but not much came up for it, other than a roll cage made by them. any input would be helpful.
thanks

hello all,
thanks for trying to help with more info,

since the gt2 one piece aluminum brace seems to be unobtainable at this point, this is what i really want to know.... what is the deal with that one piece, totally carbon fiber strut brace unit that robert linton showed a picture of in the thread about carbon fiber control arms.

i guess thats just a unique fabrication developed by linton for demonstrative purposes but wow, id be willing to pay a pretty penny for an amzing piece like that

so... if you happen to read this robert linton, please reply

Just saw the latest. In response, the strut brace has gotten to a stage whereby it could be produced and, quite frankly, it is quite a good component. Using F1 technology, its weight is 410 grams and it is beautiful and I believe more functional than any 964/994 strut brace ever made.
