Question Trickling sound?

I apologize if this is a redundant or silly question, but I've searched around for the answer and can't seem to find one. I'm coming over to the 993 side of the house from a Boxster S and I'm still getting used to the various differences between the two, including the sounds...

When my C4S is idling and not in motion, I can hear a sort of trickling sound like water is running. It sounds like it's coming primarily from the right side of the car and maybe towards the front a little bit.

From hints in various posts, I've heard that 'gurgling' noises are common in 911's, so I'm guessing that maybe it's the oil sump in operation. I'm ruling out the A/C because it is off when I hear the trickling.

Input anyone?

As always, I like asking Rennlisters first before calling my mechanic about anything; there are so many helpful and knowledgeable people here! I've gotten so much valuable information during my Porsche ownership that I had to contribute and become a member; I want to see this board around for many years to come...

Thanks!

The oil lines run along the bottom right side of the car, so your assumption that the sound of gurgling stem from oil flow would be correct.

Great! Just the answers I was looking for... Now I can sound confident when my passengers ask me what the heck that sound is

Oh, that sound? Nothing to worry about, it's just over 12 quarts of hot synthetic oil being pumped to the front of the car to be cooled by a very efficient dry sump mechanism perfected over years of racing research and development... Pretty neat, huh?

It only gets louder with the cargraphics oil cooler installed. I think the oil lines which rest against the trunk amplifly the gurguling sound.

When your passengers hear the gurgling sound, tell them it's the sound of:

1) money leaving your wallet as you add more mods to your car;

2) blood leaving your body after your wife cuts off an essential appendage/limb upon finding out how much money you've spent on your new toy;

3) the river you'll be living next to after you're divorced and homeless.

Mark, I believe that is the alternative use of the cool suit plumbing
