Default 993 engine under tray

Just discovered my 993 Targa came with the engine under tray missing. Not a huge deal, but can anyone link me to the right part? For some reason, I can't find a reputable source selling it. Thanks!

Thank the prior owner for removing the engine under tray for you. There is no need to replace it. I have been told It was added to meet Swiss noise limits.

You can leave it on or off (endless debate) just make sure if you install one that you have the required clip nuts installed and the rearward bracket.

The cover just makes oil changes a pain in the butt.

It takes maybe 3 minutes to remove.

Does not its presence add unnecessary heat to the engine?

Probably does provide some protection from road debris and other stuff..

Hi Rich,
My understanding is a smooth tray reduces air lift at very high speeds.
From personal experience it also covers the exhause so the system doesn't set leavs or other flamable debris under the car on fire.

The part number is 993-119-129-06-OEM. Evidently, some older under trays had the part number 993-119-129-04.

The bad news is that it's almost $800. I know this because mine is missing and I was looking to replace it. Oof. Maybe I'll be able to source a used one from eBay.

I'm sure there's a few people on Rennlist that would sell you the one they're not using. I like to keep mine installed, but I'm definitely a minority here...

I used to keep it installed in the winter and removed it for the warmer months ... mostly to just help keep the engine free of road grime. I think the last time it was installed was around 2012.

There was a shop owner who posted about this a few years ago and had like 15 of these. Maybe he'll show up again!
