In My Profile/Edit Options I have selected the "Pop up a box when you receive a private message" option, but it never happens. I must always go to My Profile and check for PMs manually.

Is there a setting I need to have in Internet Explorer or somewhere else for this to function or does it just not work? If it does work, where does the pop up box appear, how big, and what does it look like?

Do you have a "pop-up blocker" running in your system?

I have a similar problem on another board I frequent.

Great thought. I can't believe that didn't occur to me but I was thinking it would be a flag or something like on the funcarsonline 996 board.

Unfortunately, configuring the Popup blocker to allow pops on Rennlist didn't solve the problem. It still doesn't work.

Are popups on this message board actually working for anyone?

BTW, I can't get email notification to work for some reason.

It worked!

I currently have the 993 forum message list set as my home page using the URL for the actual message list frame (got by right clicking in the message window frame then copying and pasting Properties). This lets me go to the message list immediately without having to select from the rennlist forums list. It also displays the message list full screen without the section list on the left.

Just now, after checking my PMs I accidentally navigated back to the Rennlist Discussion Forums page. When I clicked the 993 Forum a message box popped up.

So maybe I have to access the 993 Forum from the Forums list for the pop-up feature to work.

How odd - I just got a pop-up notification of a PM, but when I went to the PM mailbox, there was nothing new. Maybe the system got re-initialized, and it was just catching up?

Actually, that's what happened the first time it worked for me too. I have since confirmed its operation by sending a test message to myself.

I get the feeling the function was just turned on or reinitialized (maybe John was reading this post.) Anyway, I am very pleased it is working now.

hmm.. never worked for me either and I get pop ups from other boards all the time.. I guess I'll wait and see if it happens when I get a new PM

Mine used to work - now it just pops for the heack of it just like you guys. Oh well...
