When attending a friends graduation I used the horn for the occasional blast of happiness. However, after a while the rather deep original sounds disappeared and it now sounds like an old VW Beetle (onetone rather high pitch sound)

I checked behind the rightfront headlight where the horn is situated, thinking that an airhose had worked itself loose but no, there are just electrical terminals going into the horn.

Any thoughts what the problem might be?
