Question air bag light warning?

I was going at a decent clip on a back road where there is a dip, railroad track and corner all in one and, after taking the corner, the air bag warning light came on. I thought something just jiggled and set it off so I stopped and restarted the car but the light came right back on. Two questions:
1. Is the air bag gonna go off at anytime?
2. How do I get the light off?

Anyone ever have this problem before? I REALLY don’t want to bring it in to a dealer.

When I rebuilt my 993 I had to replace the airbags. The only way I could have the system checked and the light reset was to go to a dealer. No independant shop in the Los Angeles area had the computer to handle the job. Evidently the computer is so expensive the independant shops can't afford them. Good luck.

Chuck's right - the workshop manual shows all the fault codes for the airbag (many of them!) but the car has to be 'plugged in' to download the data.

Check all you connections, something may have jiggled loose. It isn't that hard to do. Look under passenger footwell, behind steering wheel, under driver dash (above foot heater), all connections have bright orange connectors, you can't miss them.

Thanks Andy, I'll check all of the connections that you mentioned.
