Matt, if you are going to go through with the trouble of actually writing them a complaint I recommend that you alert them that you will be sending a copy of their response, along with your initial letter, to a) your attorney general, b) local media outlets (TV, radio n' newspaper), c) better business bureau, and the d) Federal Trade Commission's Consumer Protection Division. (plus anyone else you can think of -- hey, you might want to send it to their competitor's like P21, Griot's, etc.)

Having worked for a brief spell in consumer rights activism, I have found this helps prompt a genuine response from a company (and tends to make it more favorable). Few people take the time to actually write a complaint so those that do generally get a response.

It is actually useful to do this, as these consumer agencies keep files on companies and, basically, when a certain company's file gets too big they decide to investigate/do a story/etc.

Remeber, a warning on the label does not completely absolve them of liability. Given that you used their wheel cleaner to -- gasp -- clean your wheels, I think they are on shaky ground to contend that their fine print provides adequate warning to the average consumer.

Good luck!

I fortunately have not damaged any wheels with the product, but it did leave a mild stain on my colored concrete driveway <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" />

Sorry to hear about your wheels. You might want to try a product sold bt Tire Rack called Wheel Wax. Works great on my FM 5's. Mike W
