Post Service Information Technik 993 RS (Dont buy this book!)..

unless you want to go into the throws of envy and anger. Envious because you don't have a 993RS or 993RS Clubsport (CS), and angry because Porsche hasn't brought a car prepared for spirited road and performance into the US. This car is a distinct departure from the 88 Carrera CS we saw in the US. The specs on the 993 RS and CS more closely approximate a 1992 US Cup Car. I am constantly reminded of this as my local Porsche Guru who turned me on to this Bulletin, is none other than "Cup Car" who posts on the 993 and 964 lists from time to time

After seeing the Bulletin in Cup Car's library, I ordered THe PORSCHE Service Information Tecnik "96" on the 911 Carrera RS, part number WKD 499 620 from Gert http://www.carnewal.com It arrived today: I have not been able to put it down until now...I took a quick break to post the above warning to my fellow US and Canadian Rennlisters.

In summary, the 993RS and 993RS CS are incredible cars. It would take an estimated $30,000+ to bring a standard 993 to RS specs, maybe more. I'll post the details on the differences between the standard 993 and the 993RS and 993RSCS later, after I have gotten over the shock. Don't order this book unless you are willing to consider demonic possession as a possibility, the wannabe demons are not demanding!!!

I have the booklet you are referring to. Gives a really good description of the differences between a stock 993 and an RS.
PS (How is your German?...)

I just re-read the book again...all in English. DO NOT READ THIS BOOK UNLESS.

As an eample, the front splitters on the 993RS, on the bottom side, there is a channel on each splitter that directs the air to the brake scoop. I don't recall this feature on my stock lower valance.

A channel exists on the bottom of my 97 C4S front bumper cover. It aims right at the scoupes that direct air at the brakes. Sounds like the same kind of deal here.
