New engine noise at start up

I’ve learned the hard way that it’s easy to warp the fan when installing / removing it from the shaft or bearing. Be careful, and when pressing the bearing out or in, be sure to support the fan as close to the bearing as possible. I now use a PVC pipe coupling behind the fan to support it while I press out the bearing. Even a slight warping will cause it to skim the housing.

With all the recent failure of the new bearings, I don’t understand why everyone isn’t running with RS fan hubs (or better still, Clewett). Clean and simple.
