Post immobilizer problems

Tried to start my car and the immobilizer would not give me the click to activate whatever it does. I changed the battery in the key. Still would not work. I tried locking and unlocking the car (manually) and the alarm went off. Could not stop the alarm until I pulled the cut off switch. I just kept trying combos until the alarm stopped and the car started. I am leaving the key in the ignition so I will not have this problem again today.

Question is: I have the immobilizer code. Any way to disable this thing? I hate this system with a passion.

If this system leaves me stranded I will place 20 .223 rounds through the drivers seat cushion. That will make me feel better.

Just had a similar problem that I posted yesterday! I would like to turn this off as well.

Steve W once told me that when he re chips the ECU he can turn off the drive block system. As I have a 96 and am un chippable I cannot take advantage of this option. I asked my service shop and they said there was no way to disable the damm thing. Spoke to a rep from FVD and they told me when they reprogram the their chip they can also turn off the DB but they had cust. complain that the system re armed itself after a short time. Bill what kind of key are you using??? As I posted in jhb's thread, my switch back to the old switch blade housing solved the problem (same circuit board, something with the old style fob made the issue go away) Until you figure it out, leave the key in the ign.

Bill, I had a similiar scenario. I tried replacing the battery w/ no luck. At the time, I was planning on replacing the big "block" key for the "fob" version. The new key worked flawlessly. It seems that the button on the block key was "worn" out or something. I would try a new key.
