I just talked to someone selling wheels. He mentioned that Boxster wheels with 50 front and 47 rear offset will fit 993 NB's. Front seems doo-able but he mentioned that most 993 owners looking for a wider stance will put spacers on rear with the standard 65 offset and that the 47's do the job without spacers. Has any one done this before and what if the car is lowered, will they not rub?

Any advice.

Rear wheels with 47 offsets will not work on NB's. Adding spacers will make it worse. Get 65's.
