Default 5th Gear - in Lewisville, TX - comments?

I just got my car and want to do a 15k service. I heard 5th Gear in Lewisville is the shop of a fellow who was a very popular tech at Boardwalk Porsche in Plano.

Can anyone give me some more information on this shop and the background of the people? Is this the right place to bring my car vs Boardwalk? Are they well-equipped and financed in addition to being talented? Can I bring my car there with confidence?

Thanks

I know Rick Jordan personally and visited the shop at it's grand opening weekend before last.

They have Hunter alignment and wheel balancing gear, are acquiring the PST2 (Porsche System Tester 2) in the near future, and the shop looks very good.

Rick is an outstanding technician and I would trust him with my car. Let him know that you know a few of us - feel free to use my name - and you'll get the kid glove treatment (I hope!). Their labor rates will be much better than the dealership.

Good luck!

Ditto Ben's comments. Rick's been working on Porsches since the 935s back in the 70s. Great guy & a super mechanic. He's worked on several of my 911s inc. my former 993 Cup Car & prepares several of the local guy's Club race cars.

Plano is pretty dry too. Where the heck is Sacshe? - I've only lived in Plano since 1999 (I try and forget about the 2 year interlude in the frozen north) and don't recall ever seeing signs or that town on a map?

Ruairidh,
Check this place out:

http://www.sachserodshop.com/

We should all make a run over there some time. Very well known in the Rodder circles. I'm going to get them to do the Vintage Air in my '64 GTO.

By the way, did my PS rack fix your problem?

OG,
Sounds about right. I love the whole dry, damp, wet BS we have to go through down here just to have a cold one.

Hi Jay - how are you?

That shop ooks good (as does your GTO - I really like vintage Detroit iron and that is a nice car) and yes a run over there would be fun.

Believe it or not I still haven't gotten round to fitting either the PS rack; the new brakes and rotors; and the other stuff I've been meaning to do since last I saw Joe! I'm hoping that I can do that soon.

Hey guys, I lived in Wylie until I was 11. I get back there now and then and always pass Sachse and Plano. Good chance my job could relocate me back to that area later this year. Can't wait to re-enter the land of sane real estate prices.
