Post A little help regarding wheels sizes

Guys, I received this email from someone to P-CarOnline.com. I hope you guys are able to help him out, because I know next to nothing about 993/996 issues.

Thanks,
Matt

I have seen a email from Tim Board regarding 18 inch wheels on early 993
cars when he talks about fitting a
"steering support bracket".

I have just fitted 18 inch (996 Turbo Technology) wheel's to my MY94 car and
all is well except the car does seem to "tram line" on uneven road surfaces.

Q.
What does the bracket do, would the bracket solve this or is this something
I have to live with because of the bigger Tyres.
Do you know of any other solution to this problem, I did have this a little
on my old 17 inch wheels.

Regards

18" wheels with wider tires will tramline more than 17s, just a fact of life. Steering rack brace/fix can be researched on this site...seems to be preventitive as many have used 18s without it on 95 cars and suffered no ill effects
