Just the other day my radio shut off on its own and a few seconds later came back on. I wasn't to concerned as I don't use it much. I figured a loose wire somewhere was the culprit. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. This morning I was driving to work and had the stereo, lights and V1 on. Again the radio went off along with the V1 and the dash lights flickered along with a very brief interruption in power. It happened three times throughout the drive each time correcting itself.
I had it serviced the other day and the mech. mentioned that next time the belts are changed it should have the alternator update performed. If I remember right it is a reinforced shim (?) to help the belt keeps its tension. He mentioned he tightened the belt. I have no idea if this has to do with what is happening now but since the alternator may be the problem I thought I would mention it.
