Default FVD Motronic Upgrade

Has anyone tried FVD's ecu/chip upgrade?

Check out the item in the Online Shop under "Tuning" at http://www.fvd-web.com/fvd-usa/index-usa.html

It claims to be able to increase power for a non-turbo 993 by 15PS which is almost equivalent to 15BHP...

I have not, but you will find that most here would recommend Steve Wiener's chip, myself included. It has been tried and tested by a great number of us here. It seems similarly priced, and the gains are roughly the same.

Thanks for the info.

Was kinda curious since FVD appears to be one of the main sponsors...

How does AMD compare vs the Rennsport chip? AMD seem to be held in high regard within the UK community.

Does anyone have before and after dyno sheets on any of these? If I were buying one on a trust basis it would be hands down Steve W.

Hi Brembo,
If you are interested in doing our motronic upgrade I will give you a deal here. Dyno your car before installing our upgraded motronic, then to prove our number redyno our upgraded motronic within a week. If you do not see 15BHP (At the Crank) from this second dyno I will take the upgraded one back and give you a full refund (excluding any shipping/labor costs). If you are interested give me a call (954) 977-7130 to discuss more...

What is it at the rear wheels where it counts? It's a little difficult to measure the
at-the-crank numbers. Also, the loss factors used are generally not accurate to
calculate the at-the-crank numbers from the RWHP.

You are correct with a chassis dyno this is tough. However this is the only way I can do a deal like this as our figures are done on an engine dyno... The way to do this is go with a number reuse it for both runs... What I mean is use 13% for both and that will be fine... Though the number may not be completely accurate, its the closest I can do unless you have an engine dyno laying around

After what I saw when visiting FVD (see arrogance) and what I heard about how badly some of their ECUs have been badly chipped, I will NOT be buying anything from them!

Mike,

I had my car remapped at AmD, though Geoff Everett, who did the remapping, has since moved on (I think Geoff is the one who is now offering the replacement wishbone bushes, he also has an ECU company). The before/after plots of power and torque are below, car made 247HP at the rear wheels afterwards (front drive shaft disconnected).

No complaints about the service at Amd, but difference is small. If I were doing it again today I would go to 9m.
