Default Productive day in header fabrication land

Hey guys,
Spent my last of the memorial day weekend cutting a bunch of tubing .

Here are some pics of the runners tac welded for fitment testing into the merge collector. Now I just need to get the flanges machined, weld/polish the tubing up completely and get the bolt tabs on . The runners are equal length (26") to within a quarter inch after my initial measurements.

Using 321 stainless mandrel u-bends along with a 321 stainless dual slip merge collector. Will be connected to the rest of my little project via v-band clamps.

Awesome work. Did you bend the tubing yourself? I can't imagine how much a mandrel bender like that would cost. I presume that is tig? I'd like to learn how to tig someday, but for now I'll keep perfecting my mig skills.

Kary - Hehe yep. This is why I was kinda window shopping for race cats.

Chris - LOL. So when are the carbon products for our cars being released? I don't think I 'll have time to mess with composites fabrication this summer.

Coleman - Thanks

Mark - Thanks. I could only dream of having a mandrel bender to use at whim. I believe they are a few million for the machine itself. Then you have to buy the individual tooling.
Yes the tacs are done with a Tig and the final welds will all be purge welded with a Tig. Using one just takes practice to learn the different temperature applications necessary for each material.
