If I buy a Utah vehicle which has no modifications to the motor or exhaust system, is it likely to pass a CA emissions test to get a smog cert? I don't want to have any surprises. Also wondered if a Porsche dealer in Utah can check the emissions to tell me if it would pass a CA smog test. Anyone know?

All cars are now made to pass all state requirements. You should not have any trouble with a "Utah" car passing a CA smog test.

This one has US standard emisssions and controls (49 states) whatever that means....

Utah requires not only emissions but a safety check as well. Its every other year for safety on new vehicles but for 993s (because of age) its every year for both. Its probably worth $75.00 for piece of mind for both.
