Unbelievable...Cab on eBay for 26K !
It is a salvage title but supposedly not from being wrecked or rebuilt. Inspected by Pat Williams (who is this guy?)
No affiliation yada, yada, yada.

hmmm... is it just me... or maybe just the way cabs are... BUT
....look at the side view... something doesn't seem right with there where the wheels sit in reference to the body (as in, out of proper center?)
...or is it just me?????

Whoa! You are totally right, ceboyd. Good eyes. The car has probably had suspension and drivetrain damage. The rear wheels are totally out of center relative to the body. I wouldn't touch this with ten foot pole!

Pat Williams is an awesome engine builder in the Memphis area. He has built some 3.8's for friends of mine that are awesome. How that makes him a good judge of a salvage title car I'm not sure!

yeah well,
Someone stating they don't know why it is a salvage title seems like an excuse to hide something horrible...
I've heard of salvage titled due to recovered theft but why not say that if it is the case..
What if it was a badly rear ended, rebuilt car?
What if it was under water?
..the list goes on and on.. a bit too scary for me!!!!!
If you want a cab that badly, just wait until around December 29th when no one wants a cab and it is statistically the lowest sale week of the year..

He is also selling the car claiming that it has original 3.6 turbo Speedline rims.
These rims are not 3.6 turbo rims. They may be speedline but they are not the rims used on the 3.6 turbo

I'm probably a bit off but:
Tiptronic
64k miles
Salvage title
$26k seems like the most I would pay for this car and may be a bit high. But then again, I am paranoid about salvage titles especially when you try and re-sell.

My prediction: The car will sell. And if the car is as good in person as it appears in the photos, the new owner will be happy. $26,000 for a low mile cab with this curb appeal in springtime is a good deal even with a salvage title. If the new owner keeps it for 3 years he will suffer less depreciation than the rest of us. And he is getting a 993 for a 964 price. Not everybody is as loose with their money as Porschephiles.
Further, the whole time the current owner drives it he does not have the risk of losing his shirt (like the rest of us) if he is in an major accident.

the new owner will be happy
....until someone following him tells him his car is dog-tracking , or the tire rubs when you hit a good sized bump, or the tire/s wear out in a hurry because they are going in different directions.
There are cars that have been repaired properly that are burdened with a salvage title, then there are cars that have not been repaired properly that have a salvage title. Unless one or more credible body shops told me otherwise, i would guess this car probably falls in to the latter category.

My '97 Cab is a salvage. But I bought it damaged and know what the damage was. I know who fixed it and I know it was fixed right. I rebuilt an A4 for my son, an S4 for my wife and two Passats for my daughters. The third daughter has a Jetta that was a theft recovery. That said, I would NEVER buy a salvaged car that I didn't supervise the repairs. There are too many degrees of salvage and no way to tell how bad the car was unless you bought it and repaired it. None of my cars were rolled or damaged too badly. However, I once saw a BMW 5 series at the body shop that was cut in half from front to back. They did a side clip. So that BMW is the one that some poor unsuspecting buyer gets.

That rear wheel is horrible! No one will be happy with that car. You have to have a real keen eye to look for cars on ebay. I just can't believe all the sellers don't have the heart to explain the problems a car obviously has.
