I called Lojack this morning & the CSR said with little confidence that when your car battery is replaced you do not need service.

I read the manuel and it states "an inspection is required,..if you experience battery or electrical system problems with your vehicle". I told this to the CSR and he still said it is not needed.

So who knows for sure?

They want $69 + parts for a service.

I called back to Lojack again and spoke to a more experienced CSR and she confirmed that service is not need for a car battery dyeing or replaced, but if you have some major electrical problems it may be a good idea to have it checked. She also explained that two year service is not needed as well. She suggested to have a service and battery replacement every 4-5 years $110.

yes, I was told that under normal every day driving, the lojack battery should last about 4 years (maybe 5 years)

..BUT, if you remove your car battery in winter for storage, the lojack battery drains prematurely and needs to be replaced.

I also didn't like the NON coverage areas (there were a ton of them)

...and I didn't like that 'fine print' of covering only your deductable... big savings there.

At this point I'm more on the side of the fense of if it does get stolen, I probably won't want it back anyway....
