Default 993 Durametric Code 175 Intake Pipe Switchover

Hi,
I have a 97 993 C2 Varioram with Durametric Error Code 175, Intake Pipe Switchover. My 993 has a throttle body with 2 butterflies(?).
I updated to the latest Durametric software ( & driver ) bundle from their website and am using the official OBDII connector 7-10-23.
I searched this forum and Googled but failed to find anything on 175 code.
Any help would be greatly appreciated to tackle this problem.

Hi I saw your previous post you cleaned out the sai ports which is a good thing to do... I know first hand what a PIA and dirty job it is!

With regards to your error, did you have it before or after the service you performed?

Seems strange the error you have after doing the sai port clean out, unless you somehow disturbed the vacuum system which the intake slides use to actuate. If you have no vacuum the slides and consequently the vram will not engage after a certain rpm. I would do a vacuum system check and then try to do a drive link test to manually actuate the vram system.

Hi HMC,
OBD Code 175 Intake Manifold Resonence Flap - No Check Engine Light
The related P Codes are:
P1516 - interruption / no signal
P1515 - Short to ground/ Below Lower Limit
P1512 - Short to B+/ Above upper limit

This would suggest to me that one of the electric solenoid control valves that control one of the vacuum lines to one of the three vacuum actuators on the Varioram has failed or has become disconnected.

The upside is that they are easily diagnosed with an ohm meter,

or by observing all three actuators as moving during the test described halfway down on this page:
https://993servicerepair.blogspot.co...r-robbing.html

Be aware that an actuator may not move during testing because it has become disconnected or the vacuum actuator's internal diaphragm has failed and leaks these being unrelated to a solenoid control valve problem.

Hi,

This error code came up because I missed a connection.
Both of you focused on disruptions of signals or valve malfunction. And you were right!
After romoving the airbox and the heater blower, I found a connector at the top of valve cover near #1 spark plug!. After connecting it, no errors!

Thank you so much!!!

Hi HMC,
You are welcome, any fix that can be done easily with hand tools and doesn't involve buying expensive parts is the best kinda repair!
