Default Low dust brake pads

I'll be doing the rotors soon so I thought while in there maybe change the pads. I don't know what type of pad I have on at present, they were changed out last time by an independent several years ago.

I'm looking for suggestions for a replacement pad which doesn't produce a lot of dust. I don't track the car so street pads should be OK.

TIA

Though we don't have them on my son's 993 I have Porterfield RS-4 pads on 991 Carrera T and 981 spyder and they are very low dust and have good feel and bite for the street. Very happy with them. Don't really track either car...

Hawk "Performance Ceramic" compound are marketed as low-noise, low-dust. They are not cheap!
@Jlaa has them on.
I have a set, but haven't had a chance to install them yet - squeal and dust are driving me crazy, so I got them.

For my car, these are front:

...and rear:

I suggest you confirm fit as they have a LOT of options!

For what it’s worth the go to low dust option on the 997 board is the Hawk Ceramic.

I put them on my 2011 C4S (Big Reds) for dust reasons versus OEM and very satisfied.

I believe they make a pad that fits the 993 standard brake but not Big Reds.

I love the Hawk Ceramics. Check out the difference on the lip of the wheel in the below photo. Don't do EBC Red Stuff. EBC Red Stuff is only good if you love brake dust and enjoy non-stop squealing.

I run EBC Red Stuff on my 1988 911G with White Fuchs and have been pleased with the reduced dust. On my BMW E92 have Akebono Ceramic pads and again pleased with the low dust. In both cases stopping is adequate and noise is nil. On my 993 C4S, I will put new OEM pads and rotors on shortly.

Hi Greg,
All pads produce dust. The color of the dust makes it more or less visible. Aftermarket pads sold as ceramic or low-dust generally feature lighter color dust and so it is incrementally less visible.
For me, a pad that is known to run quietly on our cars is a priority for me vs low dust.

I'm running Hawks on my GT3. If they make them for your car, the street pads have virtually zero dust. They also make a pad that is supposed to have even less dusting.

I run my car on the street and autocross. Brake pads work very well and are quiet. I will buy them again.

If you track the car, then you probably will need a performance pad and copious brake dust is just part of the package.
