Default 996 Fuel guage issue

Today I filled my 2003 996 with fuel as it was at 1/4 tank. After filling it the fuel guage still showed 1/4 tank and the computer showed 80Km to empty
I dove a few kilometers and the guage registered lower and the low fuel light came on and the computer said fuel low .
Went to the gas station to add more fuel but it was full. After a restart same thing low fuel and less than 1/4 tank.
Turned off the car armed alarm waited disarmed and restarted still says low fuel.
I am confused .

The 996 guys would likely know better than us.

However, sounds like you may have a bad sender and/or gauge. Thankfully, the 996 fuel tank is readily accessible in the frunk and should be an easy/simple checkout and/or repair. Suggest you meter the old sender for performance against spec before replacing. Who knows, maybe the float fell off...
