Any way to add side airbags to 993s? heard teh 997s have seats that have the bags on seats instead of the doors.

Of course you are adding more pyros and need accelerometers to measure change in side loads. To certify for OE takes quite a lot of effort and a DYI project would probably affect any potential for resale of the car-not to mention what an insurance company would say for injury coverage if they deploy, even in a side impact collision.

If they are in the seat, then adding the hardware would probably not be too difficult, its the controlling software and sensors that I think would be the headache.
