Question My S is broken - fix or replace?

This morning while drying my C4S I managed to snag the end of the "S", causing two small bits to snap off. It looks like the pieces will fit together well with no visible seam, and there are no chips missing, etc. That being said, I know how these things can be, and I'd hate to end up with something that looks terrible.

Has anyone else had this happen, and did you fix or replace it? What does a new "S" go for? Somehow I keep expecting that it's going to be a $50 part...

Thanks!

I have done this succesfully twice with Superglue, once on the top part of the C and once on the right side of the S. Now I am more careful with the wash mitt.

Thanks all. I should have checked with Gert in the first place, and I've just ordered the part from him. I tried to repair it, but the seams ended up being visible and too ugly for a car like this.

Have one machined out of aluminum and anodized. Should cost you $400. So Porsche-like.

Don't be so cheap. You bought an S, get the platinum version. Comes with free shop manuals.

I did this also once last year and glued it. I would like to replace if only $10(thought it would be alot more). But, I have the "2S" There is no notch in the back of the "S" as there is in the "4S" Called the dealer. They said they only have "4S" symbol. Also I would like to refresh my Mobil 1/Porsche factory sticker in the engine compartment which they also didn't have a part# for. Anyone have part #'s??

Sorry for the late response. I just read your thread. I have a new "S" #993.559.243.01.61W which I ordered in error. My car takes the notched "S" and the extra that I have is not notched. If you want it, just send me your address and I will mail it. No charge,

Tom
