Wink '96 993 Exhaust Tips Part #'s

Need help determining the proper part #'s for exhaust tips on a '96 993. I recently ordered and recieved a set of polished tips from Wheel Enhancement, they look great and will cetainly dress out the rear end of the car, but they don't fit under the car. The part #'s on the polished tips I received are as follows: Right: 993.11.252.51.97.07 and Left: 993.111.251.51.09. Anyone have the correct #'s or any suggestions???

I am confused as well. There are at least two types of the polished oval exhaust tips, part # EP 5110 and EF 7110, these are the ones without the built in heat shields. Then there are several thick wall tips with heat shields that come chrome plated. Does anyone know what tips fit what?
Also are the oval exhaust tips are plated or just polished? I just got a used pair of EP 5110 tips (I'm hoping they will fit), one has a small scratch on the bottom, I'm wondering if I could buff it out. I dont want to try if it is plated.

Maibusteve,

993.11.252.51 is right side option M159 motor sound chrome exhaust tip for the widebody NA 993s

993.11.251.51 is left side option M159 motor sound chrome exhaust tip for the widebody NA 993s

I don't know what type of 993 you have, but here are the part numbers for the chrome motor sound exhaust tips for the narrow body 993s.

993.111.251.11 left side motor sound chrome exhaust tips for narrow body 993

993.111.252.11 right side motor sound chrome exhaust tips for narrow body 993

There were a total of four different factory exhaust tips for the 993:

- Small (hardly polished) oval from 1994-1995 on all models
- Square (hardly polished) from 1996-on
- Square chrome motor sound option from 1996-on
- Big oval polished stainless steel optional on all models from 1996-on

Malibusteve,
Appears Robin has answered your question but in looking at your post I saw you were also in Springfield. I just purchased a set of the chrome tips from Gert if you would like to see what they look like. They were very easy to put on, look great and even with shipping from Belgium were only about $ 150. So if you have to return the tips you have you might want to look at these as an option. If so you can email me at mmcglasson@bankofspringfield.com and I'll make arrangements to meet you. Mick

Kim,

The tips are the same for either Gillet or Bischoff mufflers. The difference is on the muffler pipe side where it connects to the exhaust tips. The Gillet integrated the "biscuit" pieces as part of the muffler pipe, the Bischoff uses a separate "biscuit" piece.

Biscuit = Donut = Sealing ring

As Robin stated, there are indeed two versions. The narrow body version also fits the Turbo while the widebody version only works on the Carrera S and 4S.

Looks like I need to add a "Exhaust tip FAQ" section on p-car.com

Can someone help by posting pictures of the different exhaust tips on here?
