They do not get in the way for that work. However, they're about 1000lbs and while it can be moved with a handle/wheel assembly, no chance of hanging it on the wall.

That's too bad. Would need to recess those scissor jacks into the floor so they're flat with the garage in that case. Then they won't be in the way of having to drive over them every day.

Yep. That's my plan.

I use it with the optional extenders on my w124 and my Toyota CUV . I use the heck out of the QJ - oil changes, starter motor replacement, clutch slave cylinder replacement, trans mount replacement, tire rotations, exhaust work, etc etc…. This makes wrenching so much more enjoyable as it takes all the anxiety out of raising the car. Best tool I ever bought. I added roller bearings on the bottom to make positioning them on the garage floor easier.

There's a thread on rennlist on the previous generation 1 5000TLX that did NOT fit on 993s .... which resulted tin Bendpak redesigning the 5000 series into what we see today .... that juuuust fits.
I'm looking into Quickjacks as well. Quickjack's website has the 5000TL which is for a 70" frame length versus the 5000TLX which is 76". Which one are you guys using?

i have an older model, the 5000SLX which is no longer available. it seems the 5000TL is basically the same lift. the SLX and TL are both 70" in length and that's an important dimension. you can see mine in place right now under my 993. this lift fits my 993 and 964, but there's not a lot of wiggle room.

i don't see how the 5000TLX, at 76" length, could work for these cars.

This is true. To help, I use four small circular magnets with a string tied to it. Place the magnet on the same spot of the car’s Jack points and then align the QJ to the corresponding preferred spot every time by using the hanging string as a reference. If your string is not limp enough to hang straight down, use a washer or something with some weight. I will add pictures when I’m near the car.

You can place the block in your preferred spot on the QJ and then align the outside of the block with the string. Which edge is up to you and where you place the magnet on the car and/or where the block is on the QJ.

I also use those lock in place hockey puck lift things, in addition to the QJ blocks. I tried tying the string to the the stud piece, but then you have to clock the string to the same spot. Just think the magnet is easier. Bonus is, you will never forget to remove the lock-in hockey pucks because the string will be hanging there. I use orange mason’s string.

For the very first alignment, lift the car as you like. Then, drop the QJ all the way, and mark on the QJ where the block and then the string should be.
