Hi Guys,
Ever wondered what a 993 speedster would have looked like?
I found this picture surfing the net and thought you guys might be interested. Its a one off, the basis was a standard cab. I am not sure if it was a factory car, anyone know?

Mmmmm, that is sweet.
Is it based on a 'S' though? The Cab was never made in widebody (as far as I know), but the earlier Speedster had the Turbo arches...

There is a company in Germany that specialises in converting 1989 Speedsters into 964 and 993 lookalikes. Their name escapes me at the moment but they had a whole package for sale recently. You must check the VINs. Most of these have the original 3.2 engines in them as well,

It sounds like a 993 Cabriolet converted to a Speedster according to Porsche 993 Speedster - Ultimatecarpage.com. That, or someone went through too much trouble converting a 964 into a 993 including moving the wipers.

I am of the understanding that the main mechanic at By Design here in California has converted a real 993 Cab into a speedster? They even list it in Excellence magazines in their ads. The same guy also did a 996 based Twin Turbo cab with all "Factory parts" as they say. They also did a cab with constant video capture. I think it had TV monitors in the backs of the two front seats. And a permanent camera mounted in the front bumper that does the video capture with a VCR I think it was for recording.
Hmmm, the next upgrade for the track car. It gives new meaning to the term in-car camera.
Dylan.
Update: Apparently they have done a few. You want one, give them a call. The next transformation project is a 993 cab, turned Speedster with a 996 engine?
