Hi Danie,
Not sure a limited slip diff makes sense on a 280hp street-driven Carrera as one rarely loses grip. If it can't be rebuilt consider installing a standard diff as it may cost a lot less to install vs a limited slip one.

to replace the differential you have to open the gearbox to reset the pinion with the new ring gear: a suicide.

I value the limited slip more highly and feel it is worth the extra expense. To me the car behaves differently, and while it may seem subtle at lower speeds or acceleration, it makes a noticeable difference where I want it, at a quicker pace.

a 993 c2 would have either a ZF or GKN 25/65 depending on the year
