Is there a 993 muffler laces the muffler where the cat is?
I normally just lurk on the 993 board but a recent engine change raises a question I hope some of you can answer. I could not find anything through a search.
I am installing a 964 motor in my 78SC and using the 993 exhaust manifolds. I am looking for someone who makes a muffler that bolts onto the 993 exhaust manifolds and takes the place of the cat. I do not have room in the quater panels to run the mufflers in the 993 configuration. I was planning on going the custom route, but if there is a manufacturer around I would like to consider that as an option.

LOL,..I wish there was. That might have saved us many hours of work.
These sorts of things fall under the heading of: "Custom" and you will have to fabricate this yourself. We took the 993 HE and attached/relocated different outlet flanges. Then, we took a Monty Sport muffler and relocated the inlet flanges to match and the end result was very nice.
Its a LOT of work but, IMHO, its well worth the efforts.

Thanks Steve. I've seen pictures of your work in this area and plan on attempting to duplicate the work using a OEM two-out-the-back Sport muffler.
