The manual was really informative for me. Now I understand how much I don't know about the car!!!

Purchased a 95 C2 two years ago with 95,000 miles. Now have 117,000, I had to get the driver side door stop fixed and steering rack replaced no other issues except adding 18" BBS wheels, Turbo S tail, Turbo S Ducts along with a couple other small $$$ items. I love this car.

Bought mine at 95k. Thorough PPI told me needed clutch, 90k service, rotors. Surprise was the new flywheel (upgraded) and a couple other little things once they were in there, so a 4k became a 6k fix, but the car was pristine otherwise. I just turned 110k 2 days ago, and have been to a dozen AutoXs and 6 track days now

Bought mine at the beginning of the year with about 73K on the clock. Really wanted a car with low miles, but then realized that maintenance is definitely more important to me and the longevity of the car. Ended up buying mine from a fellow Rennlister with a host of parts including 18" turbo twists, turbo front bumper with S ducts/lights, HID lights, Rennsport Chip, RSR's, tons of interior trim bits and 4 new pads and rotors sitting in the trunk. I paid $33.5K, which is on the higher side, but the car had all records and the PPI went great, so I was willing.

No horror stories. I'm liking what I'm reading. Bulletproof and stable value comes to mind. If I can just find good maint and the right mods I may be able to get something fairly soon. Finding something will prob require some weekend travel & test driving. But since my dad came home with a '73 targa when I was a little toddler, I've always wanted a 911 style ride. The ol' 928 is getting a bit long in the tooth. I see so many sic rides on this forum. I'm ready to buy the 1stof2 to go with 2ndof2. If I find something in AZ or northern CA thats too far to go see I'll be sure to notify you folks so somebody can give the prospective car the once-over before a PPI. Fear of a 60+ mile car is dissipating quickly.

Bought mine in December 03 with 97.4k miles on the clock. It now shows 103,500 miles.
However, RUF did the BTR conversion in August 2000, roughly 25k miles ago. So the engine, transmission. clutch, etc. are about 25k miles of age.
My problem is rust in the chasis as the car spent 8+ years in the German snowy mountains. Since the car arrived in CA, I replaced the suspension, sway bars, brakes and rotors, front uprights, bearings and bushings. And fresh fluid all-around when the clock hit 100k miles.
All these were not cheap, but absolutely no regrets. The car is like new now. Mucho thanks to Viperbob for this 're-birth'.

Purchased a 95 with 75K on it for $19K. I replace the shocks, changed the oil/trans fluid and installed a roll bar. Took it to Mid-Ohio for a shake down at the Club Race. 5th out of 10. I'm happy with it.

Just find a car that has had the services done and with the records, perhaps a new clutch (forgot to mention that my clutch was done at 60K with the service) and a clean PPI, and you will find yourself with a great car and money for that slippery slope...

I bought my 96 C4S with 54k miles on it and it was absolutely perfect (with the exception of the shocks). I know about the dreaded Carbon Buildup problem, and I'm prepared for that, but the car is as solid as can be. Since this is my 2nd 911, I expect nothing less than that! ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
So, get your high mileage 993 and get a thorough PPI. You'll soon forget about the 928.
