Can anyone suggest an experienced and trustworthy mechanic for my 1995 993 Cab? I'm sick of paying dealership prices and getting calls from the service department while my car is in pieces that say "Hi Joe, we discovered another minor issue that will ONLY cost $1,200 to fix." Thanks in advance for your help!

You are in Porsche "Mecca", Thousand Oaks, CA, home of Rusnak Porsche and their master technician, Mike Schatz. On overall Porsche knowledge, Mike is right there at the top of his profession, a real pro. I know lots of folks that drive a long, long way to have Mike work on their cars, Porsche store or not.
Mike is the co-author of an outstanding 996 suspension article in the May and June issue of Panorama.
You can get an idea about where Mike is coming from from the following web site: http://www.schatzmotorsport.com
I should be so lucky to live in Thousand Oaks. I am down here in Old Solana Beach, poking my way through the late night, and early morning fog..it was up to about 75 degrees F. today
, a real scorcher! I did turn off my computer this afternoon to save some electricity for you SoCal in-land folks!
