Question Panther Plus Brake Pads

Just installed Panther + pads with new rotors. They stop great!! <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" /> I'm going to the track on jan 11 so I'll report how well they work there. The only thing is that they are squealing pretty bad. I have the shims in & the rotors are new so I'm not quite sure why they're doing that. I don't believe that there known for squealing. Has anyone had any expirence with them!! I really don't want to change my pads everytime I go to the track!!!!

I am not familar with Panther + pads. One thing to keep in mind, track pads make noise, period.
You can try some anti squeal on the back but even that is limited after few track days. By the way, stoping great on the street is not indictive of how well they will work on the track, heat cycles after heat cycle, mulit high speed stops and the way you use the brakes ie. trail braking, ect. will give you a true idea of how good the pads are.

I have used Panther Plus for both street and track over the last year. They work well. They are noisy and sometimes will squeak a bit even when you are off the brakes. Squeaks are reduced after a day at the track. The pads also dust quite a bit but the dust is not corrosive to the wheels and is easy to wipe off with a damp rag. The pads wear the rotors very little, however they do seem to cause more rotor surface cracking than other pads, so keep an eye on that.

They squeak a little as in not very loud or slide down in your seat so not to show your face? Because mine is the later.

It varies, but sometimes yes very loud. A day at the track helps. Shims and grease doesn't.

Thumbs up

Well I just had my first DE with the Panther pads and my score is an "A"!! Great stopping power little to no brake fade. And that terrible squeal is gone!!
