Hi Kenny,

Don't expect to find many, given the cost of our cars. You know what they say about Yorkshire men and their money.

;0)

Take care,

Steve (Mancunian exiled down South)

Ha good point Steve, maybe I should go farther afield!

Plenty of 996's around in North Leeds though, as I'm sure there are in North Cheshire..... maybe these boys will upgrade to a 993 when they see the 997 'son of 993' eh?

I'm in the very furthest point from there, Portsmouth... don't see many 993s round here either - but 996s litter the place (literally!). Shame.

Isn't that the same story everywhere? Apart from the few cars that I know I don't see many non 996 cars out and about where I live. I still see a few in central London though they have mostly been driven out by posers in 996 convertibles (which I have to admit do look pretty good).

Cheers,

David

Hi Kenny,

Glad you took my first post in the right spirit!

WRT 996s in Leeds - that's what you get when you let Harvey Nicks set up shop in town!

Sounds like there are endless 996s around the country, not to mention even more hairdresser's receptionists' cars (aka Boxsters). I think most of the 996s round here are driven by staff from Porsche UK's HQ which is about a mile from where I live - not a bad company car I suppose.

We should enjoy the rarity of our chosen chariots.

But seriously, have you thought of contacting your local section of the Porshce Owners Club?

Take care,

Steve.

I've found that here in the UK we drive a car more rare than my old DeLorean was.. which, of course, is crazy. But I frequent DeLorean events and my baby 911 got just as many admiring glances and just as many people asking questions.. weird eh.

I've yet to join POC... is it worth it?

Not sure about POC Dan but I'm gonna go for it soon, thinking it's worth it for the events alone...?

Might have some work in dodgy Manchester later this year Steve, perhaps we can meet up and be smug about choosing the best model 911?

Hi again Kenny,

Sadly, I now live down South, and only occasionally visit family and friends in God's Own City. Enjoy your time there, and make sure you've got your locking wheelnuts on!

;0)

Take care, Steve.
