Windscreen fitting
Hi,
Does anyone still have the Porsche guide on correct fitting of the front and rear windscreens? I have had mine replaced and the (insurance company nominated supplier) fitter has messed up the alignment and doesn't seem to know how it should be done properly.
Thank you,

Do you mean "64 12 19 Removing and installing the windshield" repair guide? If so that shop manual doesn't have Spec's per se, just the procedure and tools needed. Proper "location" fitment is done (in the procedure) using templates (as I understand it), part of the tools list.
PM me with an email and I can send you a PDF of the above.
There are multiple rennlist threads discussing those templates and possibly a DIY on how to make them.

Hi Gabi,
If the problem is the lap over the gap around the rear window make sure the proper facia cover ring was used. There are several part numbers with differing fits.
From a Porsche TSB on the subject: "When replacing the rear window in cars built before July 1994, a new rubber trim part number - 993 545 225 02 must be used. If the rear window is not being replaced then the rubber trim, part number 993 545 925 00 is to be used. Cars built from July 1994, use the rubber trim, part number - 993 545 225 02."
Some have claimed the aftermarket non-Porsche branded trim has fit problems.
I had my glass replaced successfully by Safelight without the use of a template. The shop manager was aware of the issue of fitment on a 993 and so did the work himself rather than having one of his technicians do the job.

Is the op referring to a Cabriolet windscreen or a windshield?
