Post 2002 turbo wheels

My father recently got a set of 18" 2002 turbo wheels. Does anyone know if they will fit on his 964 3.6 Turbo? What about on my 96 C4s ? Does anyone have the offsets for both these cars? (I think its something like 45mm and 50mm for the 4s but I can't quite remember ).

TIA.

Don't know about the 964 but I have seen them on a non-lowered 993 Carrera 4S. The rears looked quite odd as they stuck out a bit in front of the fender lip. You should try them on and see if you like them. To me, they didn't look as good as the 993 wheels.

Thanks Viken. I believe the 3.6 Turbo wheel and the 4s are the same pattern/offset. I was told that the 2001 Turbo wheels will not fit on a 4S, but 2002 Turbo wheels will- why is that the case? Also, Viken what are the offsets for our cars?

I will try them and I will make sure I tell him that they look much better on my car anyway....

Yes, the bolt pattern is the same but the offset may not be the same on the 964. The 2001 and 2002 wheels are the same. The 993 Carrera 4S has the following wheel sizes and offsets:

8" x 18" ET52
10" x 18" ET40

The 2002 wheels purchased had rear tires which were 295. This differs from the standard 285 found on our cars. Any idea on appropiate tire sizes? I was planning on factory sizes 225/285 for the C4S. These may be used for track wheels and if that's the case, perhaps I should change the sizes, maybe a 245 up front and a 285 rear. Any other suggestions? Thanks again.

The 996 Turbo rear wheels are 11" wide. As such, I wouldn't install a 285 tire on them. The 285 works best on a 10" or 10.5" wheel at the most. Also, I wouldn't put a 245 on an 8" wheel because the added tread width wouldn't be as effective as on an 8.5" or 9" wheel.

Viken:

Were the wheels too far outside the fender on the c4s b/c of 7mm spacers being used?

The 2002 wheels with 45mm offsets should be 5 mm further into the wheel well, right? (versus the 40 mm 993 rear ET)

Also: do you know the weights of these rims vs. the 1997 turbo wheels?

I am thinking of running a set on the track. Thanks for the clarification, as always!

No, they were just a bit farther out. However, the 996 Turbo wheels are 11" vs. 10" for the 993 Turbo's.

No, I don't. But, they should be close to their 993 equivalents.

Offsets on 94 3.6 Turbo are

fronts 8x18 offset 52mm
rears 10x18 offset 61mm

I think the rear 2002 TT wheels won't work too well on the 3.6. Besides, the 3.6 Turbo wheels are IMO much better looking. Just hard to clean.
