Slave cylinder slave is the proper name for DIYers who have tackled this I believe ;-)

I think Chris L has some very good advice. I was chatting with my mechanic this afternoon who has something like 20+ years experience working on pcars, and he said something along the lines of "yea you have to remove this little plug... check the alignment ....otherwise you'll put the clutch pedal to the floor ....and the slave piston will come shooting out"

It would be great to have a picture of where this little black plug is and what a properly aligned release arm looks like on the DIY.

Excellent pics Jason thanks for the link. I wish I had known that when I replaced my slave cylinder. Of course I was busy growing a third skinny arm starting half way up my second one so I could reach in there without dropping the engine...
