Arrwin,
The bezels were a piece of cake. Bought some poster putty at STAPLES and applied little pieces to the backs of the bezels. Then, just stick them over the OEM gauge surrounds and there you have it. With poster putty, they stay put and you don't have to worry about scraping off any adhesive if you ever want to remove them. If you go with the OEM gauges with the chrome INSIDE the face, that's an entirely different story. Removing the gauges is difficult but there a DIY article on www.p-car.com if you choose to do so.

jdoc7,
I picked up an old black plastic insert for doing exactly what you are describing, except I wanted mesh screen in flat black. By cutting off the inner slats and just using the outer portion as a frame, you have something that you can attach to the bumper easily (for installation and repair) and you have a nice way to pop rivet on the screen...

I have updated my original post with an extra picture and now you have to click on the links to see the pics. Sorry, I don't know how to get them tp show up in the thread itself.
Mick,
Thanks for the offer! The same holds true for you if you are ever in the Peoria area! Happy motoring!

How much did the whole split grill project run you? I'm usually a decisive person, but for some reason. I just can't pull the trigger on this one. I've got stacks of car parts sitting in my office, waiting to be installed. So I know a spilt grill will sit for a while if I buy one.

From a prvious post on another thread:
Rick,
There is no guarantee that a rear decklid off a C2S will perfectly match your existing paint either. That means a paint job as well. Not to mention the fact that the decklid may not fit exactly like yours does causing uneven gaps. Then again, it is a major PITA to change off hthe old one. I'm amazed at how much work I had to do just to change a plastic grill! My brother-in-law also commented on how extensive the work was to get it done right. I also manged to lose some mounting tabs and a decklid bracket screw into the engine bay. However, it feels good to have done it myself and it looks terrific. I'll post pics soon.
Overall cost:
OEM split grill from Carnewal: $356
OEM adhesive: (I hate this stuff!): $86
Paint: $150
Screw, tabs lost: $ 16
Total: $ 608
Time: Priceless

My suspension setup is Bilstein Heavy Duties with H&R springs. Although it does look really good, I probably would not go this low if I did it again. I do have the FPB which helps a lot but I think an inch higher would have been more practical. Then again, I didn't buy this car for its practicality.
