Default Rear end reassembly help

I’m in the process of rebuilding the rear axles.

required me to essentially pull huge rear hubs.

hot them out and rebuilt and
got rear end back together, sans the lower a-arm ball joint

trying to figure out the trick to getting the a-arm outward enough, or the hub inward enough to get the pin to align in the hub receiver.

it’s close enough to get the threaded part into the whole, but the tapered pin part is not aligned enough to mate the two parts.

all other connections to the hub are loose but mated.

thx

Is the lower shock mount attached (via the toe link/track rod)? If so, remove it. The coilover is probably fighting you.

You should have the A-arm, KT and Camber arms fully torqued to the hub before you mount the coilover.

Aside from that, I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't be able to angle the ball joint on the A-arm to any angle needed in order to fully seat the nut and torque it.

I had the ball joint in, but couldn't line up the shock mount -- so I undid the ball joint, and put the coilover back together. I'm thinking of maybe putting a ratchet strap on the hub and maneuver it that way

Yep, again, the camber, KT and A-arm ball joints should all be fully seated and torqued to spec.

Coilover gets mounted last. If the holes don't line up, either use a jack or a pry bar through the holes to leverage it and then insert the ball joint from the toe link through the hub/coilover.
